The island has a well-developed infrastructure and first-class facilities. There’s plenty of sights and activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family, including pristine beaches shaded by palm trees, water sports, forests for hiking, cultural shows, beach clubs, and fantastic shopping.
November to May is the ideal time to visit the stunning Andaman Coast. The sun is shining, the skies are blue, the sea is calm and warm. We have a tropical climate, even in the quieter season it doesn’t rain all day every day, and it’s still pleasant enough to sit on the beach or beside the pool.
Phuket has plenty of family-friendly accommodation options right on the beach, convenient if you have younger children and prefer to stay close to the hotel. You can easily find something that includes a living area, kitchenette and in-room entertainment options, it makes life a lot easier when you have kids.
They have the opportunity to run around in a safe environment, make friends and have a lot of fun, giving you some time to relax whilst still keeping an eye on them. There are shallow pools for swimming, slides, spider ropes for climbing, and they even have DJ classes to create a fun-packed atmosphere. The kids will love it, and so will you.
It’s easy to arrange a boat tour out to one of the nearby islands, Koh Khai, Phi Phi Islands, Phang Nga Bay and Krabi are all accessible for a day’s cruise out to sea. Discover some amazing snorkelling spots, the water is warm and shallow and just under the surface the sea teems with colourful tropical parrot, butterfly and puffer fish. It’s a real adventure, exhilarating and enjoyable for everyone, if you’re feeling extravagant then treat the family to a day on a private luxury yacht with Andaman Cruises and make it truly memorable.
More water-based activities can be found at The Splash Jungle Park at Mai Khao Beach. ‘Phuket’s wettest, wildest water park’ has a wave pool, a 335m lazy river, some fantastic real adrenaline-rush rides, and huge body and tube water slides.
Teenage kids can be harder to please, though they should be thrilled with the wakeboarding at Anthem, a 50,000 sqm fresh water lake surrounded by jungle. There’s a full-size main cable and a smaller one for beginners, also a chill-out zone, massage facilities and pool if you just want to watch.
Also challenging is the Jungle Xtreme Adventure Park with the highest tree-climbing in Asia. Kids and adults will love this place as you walk amongst the treetops on suspension bridges, cables, and nets.
