By far our favourite festival in Phuket is Loy Krathong, a peaceful, significant festival of lights, held in November during the full moon in the 12th month of the Thai lunar calendar.

It’s a beautiful sight to see as colourful flowery creations float away under the gaze of the moon and the atmosphere is one of friendliness and warm Thai hospitality
This is a nice time to visit as it’s the end of the rainy season so still quite cool, there aren’t so many holidaymakers here and is quieter. The festival can give you an insight into Thai cultural history and the chance to join in some of the traditions which make Phuket such a splendid place to visit.
